On Easter Sunday, March 31st, the BBC presented Richard Harris talking about King Arthur and the possible location of Camelot at a hill fort called Cadbury Castle. As my brother Graham and I are both partially retired, we decided to drive down to see it for ourselves. On Wednesday, April 3rd, we left Kenilworth at 9 am and drove down the M5 to reach Lower Cadbury at 11.30 am.

The hill path is moderately steep, but not too long.

Even David made it, with a little rest on the way up.

Near the top of the hill we are on the northern slope.

Looking back to see the Graham on the ramparts.

The nearby Arthurian sites and other historical places.

On the way back home we had time to stop off at Cheddar gorge to buy some local cheese and we still made it back for early evening. A good adventure day out!
